Additional Resources and tools

- While most effectively practiced with the help of a therapist, there are many therapy resources that you can use to improve your life on your own, or use as an adjunct tool with your regular counseling. I've included some below.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Workbook:

  • Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life, by Steven C. Hayes is a great resource for individuals looking to gain control over their patterned responses to unhelpful thoughts or feelings.

Books:

  • "The Happiness Trap" by Russ Harris and "A Liberated Mind" by Steven C. Hayes are also great individual resources for learning the therapy concepts behind ACT and incorporating them into your life.
  • "ACT With Love" by Russ Harris is a great resource for couples looking to apply the ACT philosophy to creating a more valued life together
